Hi everyone, I'm new to this list and to collecting in general so the subject of meteorwrongs is of particular interest to me. The few of you I've bought from know that so far I only have small relatively inexpensive pieces which will hopefully be improved upon in time.
My methods of self protection are; 1 I buy from members of this list. Official seal or not the active members are an "association", in the sense that you tacitly acknowledge each other as legitimate sellers by your dealings with each other. Names of meteorwrong sellers have been mentioned (and remembered). 2 If the seller isn't an active member, feedback from an active member is almost as good. One of you buying from someone tells me he's sold at least 1 real stone. 3 Even though I risk little by buying small and inexpensive I try to keep track of what things are generally selling for. I KNOW I'm not getting NWA 482 for 5 bucks a gram. 4 I do check out the meteorwrongs although I'll have to admit that I can't tell the difference yet and wonder how you can by just a picture. I for one appreciate the notices posted here and certainly understand not irritating EBAY with them. Time will bring experience and hopefully knowledge. Til then I'll keep bidding and paying attention. Thanks a lot for the help you've been...Mike Show your support at the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund - http://s1.amazon.com/exec/varzea/ts/my-pay-page/PKAXFNQH7EKCX/058-5084202-7156648 _______________________________________________ Meteorite-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/meteorite-list
