[mfg-smartcam] pocketing

i was pocketing a mold with islands recently.the islands were tricky shapes and i had to finish them with a specially ground endmill.i programmed in the pocket control box to leave .02 on the walls.it did leave .02 on the pocket walls but actually came closer to the islands in some spots .one spot only .005.this was too close in some spots and i had to face it off and start over leaving more.is it common for this to happen?
