OK guys, help me out on this one.

I want to machine an oil groove inside a 1/2 id bushing that is 3/4 long using a 1/4" dia ball cutter, ie carbide burr.  The factory is jerking me around on price and delivery so I figure for $1.85 each, x 100 bushing, I can do this myself.  (This damn pride gets me in more trouble)

Anyway, I essentially want two elipses thru the bushing, that will meet at the center point on one wall.  Now how do I describle the ellipse to keep a steady .010 deep groove around the inside of the busing hole, while traveling a total of .50 in Z, +/- .250 from bushing center.  I have done an ellipse in xy plane, but never in all three at once.

This is a standard oil groove for bushing, called a figure 8 oil groove by some, but I just don't have 3 weeks to wait for them to do it either.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jon
