Chris, and all,   Thanks Chris, that got me started.   I successfully created a panel with variables that came up in the user menu as described.   However, when I select GO up come the normal macro prompts regardless of whether or not I've entered values into the boxes. Any suggestions. For instance #LENGTH as a variable, should I enter in the variable box as LENGTH or #LENGTH?   Regards,   Bill in the UK.
