Colin,

We use Spectrum DNC. The software is good, but most any DNC software will do
the trick. The reason we went with Spectrum was that they set up our
hardware connection so that our machinists only have to run a laser-pen
across a bar-code and the program is loaded into the control. Using the
barcode method helps us to keep track of what is loaded and when it is
loaded. So far it has worked pretty good.

One caveat though: If you choose to go with Spectrum, make sure that they
finish ALL your machines at one time. Their service people are so busy in
the field that there tends to be a re-learning curve whenever they come back
to do more work.

Hope that helps a bit, I know it took us over a year to decide on the right
way to tackle this issue.

Subject: [mfg-smartcam] DNC Software

Is there a DNC software that can allow you to send or receive programs from
your computer, instead of going out to the machines in the plant to do the
same.

Thank you

Colin Williams
