A couple of things to try. Double check the length of the AutoCAD file name (8 characters max, I think). Also change all geometry layers to 1-99 (stay away from layer names).

I'm having trouble trying to import dxf and dwg files into Advanced Fab Ver.
11.1 from Autocad 2000. It simply will not do it.
I have even tried saving from Autocad as a release 14 or 12 dxf file. When I
try to bring it in to Advanced Fab, it locks up the software. Is there
something else I could try or is my Smartcam to old for my Autocad 2000?
