I've finally got about $1000 set aside to build a computer, but it's been several years since I've done this and much has changed. Since I'm planning on making this a linux primary machine (Rome: Total War will probably force me to dual boot for awhile) I was hoping to share the hardware list I've settled on in case anyone saw any red flags. As far as I can tell this looks like it should all work in Ubuntu, but maybe I'm picking manufacturers with a flaky reputation, etc.

Anyway, any advice/warnings would be appreciated. I'm probably going to order whatever is currently in stock when I get home tonight. -- John D.
