That's pretty much what I'm doing, but like I said, it's been awhile for me so I figured if I threw my list out there someone could warn me if Corsair make bad RAM or Gigabyte make bad motherboards, or if LITE-ON optical drives flat out refuse to run on linux. Just any of that reputation-based info I've missed out on in my financial inability to keep up in the hardware game. ;-)
