At my company we're switching our main fileserver from a windows
machine to a fedora machine. The old machine has a close to full
500gb data RAID, the new machine has a 1tb data RAID. What I'd like
to do is rsync the data from the windows machine to the linux machine,
so that when it comes time to deploy the new machine it will take less
time to make sure it has the latest and greatest version of all the
files. I know windows doesn't have an ssh server, but if I mounted
the data RAID (which is a windows share) on the linux machine with
samba could I just rsync from the mount folder to the linux machines
local folder? Or is it more involved than that?
