As a nerd, you may have an option others do not. You can run your own.
Sure, it costs $20 a month (for the phone line, unless you already have
a fax line you can spare), and I dont know if you are in your parents
calling area, but theres nothing keeping you from hooking
up a modem of your own to your router.
