As busy as the dynamic public waves were when Wave was showing them updated
in real-time it was a serendipitous way to find interesting and useful
public waves that I might not have found if I'd only done a narrow
with:public query. It also gave a window into the public wave world as to
which public waves were the most active.
Putting on the speculation hat, my guess is that operation was
ENOURMOUSLY expensive, and as the wave population grew, it had to be
turned off. It would be nice if it came back, for the reasons you
stated, because the dynamic nature of the platform seems to be the
primary selling point.

I tend to agree. I note that when I send or forward a bunch of pictures
that only about 20% of the recipients on other providers ever get the
pictures.
