Title: Test messsage
Bob & others,

For what it's worth - if nothing else works for clearing weird behavior in TB, or Firefox, run the executable with the -profilemanager option.

That allows you create a new (profile).  Sometimes the profiles just get corrupt, at which point is easiest to toss them and start over.

I'm using TB3 now, but will have to make some time to check out SeaMonkey for eval purposes.

No issues with 10.04 as such.  My Thunderbird mail client is hopelessly
broken.  The familiar "Thunderbird is already running..." message is ineradicable, after half a dozen restarts, complete uninstalls and new
installs.  Gave up on TB 2--nice features but not for me.

Its possible there is a lockfile keeping thunderbird from opening.
There are instructions on how to fix this problem here.
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_in_use#Remove_the_profile_lock_file
Usually all you have to do is delete the lockfile. Take a peek at your .mozilla-thunderbird folder/sub folders and try to find the lock file.

Good luck

Thanks, Orion.  Didn't work.  Anyway, I've switched to SeaMonkey.  It's faster, and it can deal with my mail files and address book from TBird.
