Wrong. Ask the former CIO of the London Stock Exchange. He bought an MS- based trading platform, TradElect, which was slow and unreliable. After several high-profile outages, the LSE is switching to the Linux-based Millennium platform, and the CIO has been kicked out. I could also mention a few other examples. LSE is probably the most spectacularly costly MS disaster to date, though. So yes, buying Microsoft for high performance workloads can very much get you fired. http://www.linuxnewstoday.org/linux-news-jul-2010-archives/1267- jul-06-2010-linux-news.shtml _______________________________________________ Mid-Hudson Valley Linux Users Group http://mhvlug.org http://mhvlug.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mhvlug Upcoming Meetings (6pm - 8pm) MHVLS Auditorium Aug 4 - Samba Sep 1 - BOINC Oct 6 - Creating Firefox Extensions
