They do, but it's not as simple as that. Without special arrangements, using SUNY New Paltz as the venue would require everyone to purchase temporary parking tags from a vending machine for $2 per car per meeting. http://www.newpaltz.edu/parking/ And there are only TWO of these vending machines available (one by the West entrance, one in the Route 32 parking lot, #28): http://www.newpaltz.edu/map/map0708_1600x750.gif So I think we'd end up "bunched up" in front of these vending machines unless we had a coordinator within New Paltz hand out parking tags. Having a coordinator is the usual way in which the IEEE meetings are done at New Paltz, for instance; however most of the staff go home at 5pm, and so aren't going to be around at 6pm when we have a meeting. And after that you also need to be mindful of signs and park in lot marked "Visitor" (and in the Winter, reading these via headlights), of which there are many: http://www.newpaltz.edu/parking/lots.html Most of the buildings are still open at 6pm, and there probably won't be much competition for parking on a Wednesday evening because New Paltz has drastically cut back on night classes. So other than parking and other coordination issues, in theory it could work, but it will probably not be the most convenient. -- Chris -- Chris Knadle [email protected] _______________________________________________ Mid-Hudson Valley Linux Users Group http://mhvlug.org http://mhvlug.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mhvlug Upcoming Meetings (6pm - 8pm) MHVLS Auditorium Oct 5 - Distributed Authentication Systems Nov 2 - Nov 2011 Dec 7 - Chef
