So the 1Tb hard-drive that I kept my 600Gb music collection on died. Using some ( Linux only ) recovery tools I was able to recover 599Gb of the collection. Now here is the bad news, there are no more directories and missing file names. I was able to restore the file types ( mp3, flac, etc )
What I need "a clue" on is an application that can scan the recovery drive and help me tag and name the files. Also I really only need 100gb to maybe 200gb of the data since most are repeats and some discographies that I really don't need. So does anyone know of a program that can scan a disk for audio files create a list and then allow one to work through re-tagging? I am also looking for the ability to move the files in to a new structure. I have tried Amarok and Rhythmbox and they don't have features/function to scan and work with files, just create playlists. I know there use to be applications that would scan any drive you gave it and attempt to organize the data. but I can't recall there names nor locate anything new. -- /** ** Joe Apuzzo ** Call Sign: KD2AKU ** PGP/GPG: pub key ID BB5C7 **/
