Thanks, Michael - I think that is where I am going. I have a question to bring up with someone at the next group meeting, but I do think it's going to be the only effective thing to do. I have my original hd in the external enclosure now and Linux reports it can't mount it up unless something is cleared first - before I wreck it, I will have someone check it out and we can go from there. The Linux load I am using now is perfect, but I am still going to need windoze for a few things - and yeah - I would rather it not be 8. JC
