I think the "perfect" compression number is going to depend on things like volumetric efficiency and the RPM at which you're running the motor (presumably really low since you're using the starter?). I'm also told that it varies depending upon the compression tester that you're using. I'm not sure why that would be, since I'd think any accurate peak pressure gauge should give the same reading, but that's what people say.
