I'd be interesting in seeing more about this. Any chance he'd join the list?

The communications protocol is more limited, but the data I want is for sure in there and plenty quick enough for a display. I've run the car with the laptop going and it's pretty good (much better than I figured it would be).

The only one giving me trouble is the fuel level, otherwise it's a matter of stuffing them in the hole. That IS a problem, because I want 7 things (Speed, RPM, volt, fuel level, OPG, water temp, oil temp )and I really only have room for 6. I was considering a combo speedo/tach (Cyberdyne or Dakota Digital), or a digital numeric speedo and a real analog tach.. but I don't really like either option. I also considered the FM Shift-I plus VDO speedo, but 7 LED's as the only tach didn't appeal to me. I minimally have to buy a VDO speedo to the tune of $120 or so. I figured if I can find a suitable OBD gauge instead for a slight cost increase, that's an option.. Not sure I am going to be able to pull off what I want to do, which is new gauges without pillar or dash pods... I can fit 6 x 2 1/16" + 1 x 3 1/8".. so either the tach or the speedo has to be a 2 1/16". Speedo would be worthless unless digital numeric (which I am not a fan of), tach would probably be ok if I did the Shift-I as well.

I am able to perform he functions via laptop software, but I am trying to find a way to have a speedo in the car via the OBD port. No clue what other options are out there, but am open to suggestions.. so fire away!
