Disposal Options (I've used all these in the last 3 years or so) Sawzall - takes 4-8 hours, and your hands and arms are numb for another 4-6 hours, and your neighbors hate you. Takes a 10-12" blade at the firewall. Maybe $10 is scrap is it's just the shell. I cut my 97 into pieces that could be carried by hand and hauled it away on a snowmobile trailer.
Cutting torch - takes 10-15 minutes to cut in half, and if you are lucky
you find 2 guys to take the halves AND pay you money for them.. via
craigslist (got $50 for the front half, rear half was given to a pal who
needed the top/seat belt towers)
Scrap yard - I got $60-80 a ton (Miata gutted is around 1000 pounds) so
$30-40, you need a title tho or you get half that...But you can scrap out
all the other at the same time.. aluminum PPF frame, Cat, etc.

Re: More Available Parts from
1990 NA... Differential
question
Thanks Chad. I didn't think it was like the 94-97 diff, but wanted to be
sure before scrapping it.
Is there any value in the interior plastic panels behind seats? Anyone
need them after removing a rollbar? What about the carpet. Its in fairly
good shape (loop carpet in black). Still have top frame, used seats, wiring
harnesses and a few other miscellaneous pieces I am leaving in unless
someone has interest in them. The suspension arms are rather rusty, so I am
going to skip pulling them.
All other items available cheap.
Any suggestions on best way to get rid of a stripped Miata carcass?

If it wasn’t an open diff when it was new, it’s open now. Those diffs
used a VLSD rather than a torsen and the LSD wears out over time.

I have the transmission.driveshaft out and cleaned up. Not sure if
the Diff is worth pulling or not. Its a 1990 (original) and I
assume its not a limited slip. The car has the power windows/cruise
packege, but I don't think there is anything other than an open
diff in 1990. Can someone confirm?
