You have a tough car to sell. Considering the season, values are at a low
point. Hold it till spring and you could get more.

The mods are only desirable to someone who really knows the Miata. The
average consumer should definitely stay away.

For a car with body damage and 125K, I would estimate it worth $1000 tops.
But the parts are certainly worth far more than the sum of it. I would part
it out.

Body panels alone are worth in excess of $1000 (fenders, hood, doors, trunk
lid) to the spec miata racer crowd assuming good condition.

Interior and performance parts can be sold to the Miata community. However,
it takes some effort to strip it and wait for a buyer. You have to have
space to store them.

But you never know. You may find a buyer in the 3K range which would make it
easy...

I understand the situation of getting rid of a car because of kids. I had to
trade a 86 RX7 in for a statino wagon when my kids were born. But 12 years
later, I got into my Miatas...  Be patient.
