After I adjusted the timing (14 BTDC) and idle (850) my 94 would idle
very low when I turned on the AC.
The 94 has the IAC solenoid and hot water valve thing in one block unit.
I removed/cleaned/replaced the IAC and it seems to work now, the idle
droops momentarily when I turn on the AC and then returns to normal.

I read somewhere that oil bathed filters like K&N can cause the IAC to
get gummed up and stuck. I suspect this is what happened. I ran a
K&N cone for a while but I never got around to installing some kind of
isolation and it just looked like a hot air intake kit sucking air
from the area around the exhaust, so I put the stock filter assembly
back on.

I was wondering if anyone else had similar experiences?

Also, when I set the timing/idle the car was warm but I did not have
the TEN-GND jumper in place. Is this necessary? If so, why? I can
redo the timing and idle, if necessary but it seems to be running
fine.

Lastly, what is a good timing for stock street 1.8s? Factory sets
10d. Forums say more for better performance. What do you think?
