Did a system using sch 80 in a friends garage around 1981 or 82, still in
use today with no issues. Pipe is well supported at all quick connect
points, and line pressure is set at 100psi. this is a home shop and gets
typical auto hobby usage. After reading Larry's alert
(http://www.lni.wa.gov/Safety/Basics/HazAlerts/902.asp) I don't know if I
would do it again without more research, but based on experience with the
existing system would not rule it out.

PVC is fine as long as you use tube with sufficient wall thickness, and so
easy to work with

Friend of mine, who happens to be a chemical engineer, likened PVC failing
under pressure to shrapnel.

plus a loose hose to drag around as needed. What piping would you use, PVC,
black pipe or copper? I've heard pros and cons for each..
