Steve Sez -- No to Guns "N Roses. I like them, but they don't have the body of work. Three original albums, two EPs and an album of covers don't do it. I'm not even going to consider Chinese Democracy.
Big YES to the Beastie Boys, Donovan, Don Kirshner, Glyn Johns (producer), Tom Dowd (producer) and Laura Nyro (songwriter). ALL deserving! Sorta kinda yes for Freddie King, Small Faces, Faces, Spinners and Chili Peppers. Heart and War should also get in. Joan Jett's been at it for a long time, but her biggest hit was a cover, so that kind of blows it for her. Are The Runaways in the R&R Hall? They should get in just for being the first all-female rock act. They didn't do anything monumental over and above that. No to Rufus, Donna Summer and Eric B. (whoever that is). The Bee Gees did more for disco than Donna Summer, and Rufus had a couple of albums and one or two hits. Not enough.
