The Shadows didn't exist until 1958 (according to Wikipedia), after the 
release of Move It on 29 August 1958 credited to Cliff Richard and the 
Drifters, so how about:
1957 – Cliff Richard plays his first gig with The Shadows (then known as 
the Drifters) at the Victoria Hall in Hanley.
