1. Vasily is working on a software based solution for this. Somehow the hardware doesn't work like the datasheets from the vendor describe it.

2. I don't understand that - do you change the port virtually or do you replug the webcam physically into another port? Does the procedure work with other devices?

3. Since v4l2ucp is an independ application it should work with all video-applications. I don't know where you can get further information on it - their SVN repository was last updated a few years ago.

Yes, almost everything works (almost a good image quality; Erika not full
screen, Skype in process, mplayer well). I installed v4l2ucp-1.2 (by a
repository because I couldn't compile it. It gave me some errors, I
installed other "libs" but it still doesn't compile).

Now all work except:

- The autoexposure option doesn't work. I'm readding other emails but I
don't undertand how to solve it. I'm still an amater with Linux: I need a
lot of detailed explanations.

- When I try to change the usb port for my Webcam (after installed it)it
doesn't detect it. I have to use the same port always.

- I'd like to know how I could use the webcam with others programs not
supported with v4l2ucp-1.2. Where could I find information about it?

Thanks for all

Thanks,
as a matter of fact several different sensors have been used in 62b0 webcams.

BTW mi360 is also called MT9V011. And that's one of the sensors we even support. (There are still some difficulties with MT9V112 sensors ;) ).

I understand everything works for you now?

The last date I have known (from China factory) is that the 0c45x62b0
sensor
is "micron mi360". So now you have all parameters of this webcam.

NGS Spincam

    AP2501 rev 0.6m

Whoa,
v4l2UCP is an application not a kernel module.

You just install/compile it and then execute it like every other program.

Thanks, now my webcam it's working. But the image is very dark. I'm trying to probe "v4l2ucp-1.2" to solve this problem, but I don't know how I can compile it (Any repository?)

Thanks for your great help.

If you are using git, do this:

    $ git checkout --track -b development origin/development
    (in the microdia directory)

Then recompile and reinsmod the module.

This should at least create a file /dev/video0.

To test it with mplayer or skype (comorama won't work!) you need
libv4l. The README file describes how you can get it and use it.

        Hi JoJo

        I'm using Ubuntu 8.04.1, kernel 2.6.24-21.

I've passed all the afternoon looking for the webcam
information. I opened up it. All the info is:

About the error "Unknown symbol video_device_alloc", know it's
        solved (Thanks)

        The new dmesg info is:

[ 242.421034] microdia: Microdia USB 2.0 webcam driver loaded
        [ 242.421081] microdia: _Camera 0C45:62B0 not supported_.

        [ 242.421101] microdia: v2008.10 : Microdia USB 2.0 Webcam
Driver
That lighted line advise me the problem: Don't reconize it. I
        probed with Camorama and others.

What can I do now to make it work?

        Thanks.

           for errors like these
           Unknown symbol video_device_alloc

           You will need to do
