I agree. I really hope "microformat" won't turn into just another term for "semantic HTML." Clear communication is difficult enough already without additional ambiguity.

I recently noticed two posts on Ajaxian.com [1][2] that seemed to be using the term "microformat" synonymously with "giving an element a class".
