NOT enough information !!
The 3 KW inverter sine wave or MSW;
The RCD or GFI may easily trip if the inverter is MSW-- remember that just 
30 milliamps are enough for the tripping.

Also. if there is a differential inductance or a  loose cable that may 
generate a voltage drop near the GFI, then tripping.
