Hehehe.... how about.... dopez? :-)
Of course, there's a rich vein of Norse mythology we can mine.
Asgard (abode of the Gods, one step across the rainbow bridge past Midgard)
Loki -- trickster of the Gods
Surtur -- Elemental fire demon of Muspelheim
Ymir the Frost Giant
Muspelheim -- land of fire
Odin -- Thor's Dad.
My favourite names for a pair of systems would be Ummim and Thumim, the names
of Odin's ravens, which mean "Thought" and "Memory." Hard to spell though.
:-)
Oh, and don't forget Skagg the frost giant....
To move this topic vaguely back into the realm of Midgard. Has anyone
thought of integrating a CVS or RCS backend into Midgard, for version
management? I'd like to have a crack at this. Basically, this would be part
of the Admin interface, and would simply check out any file with a lock when
opening it to edit, and check it in again when it's saved. The lock would be
checked before checking out, and the user warned. You'd need extra screens
to release or override locks, review differences, revert to previous versions
and view the revision history.
I guess I'd better start coding this, but should start with the 1.4 tree --
but first, do people prefer RCS or CVS? Of course, this has top be an
OPTIONAL component, because not everyone will have a RCS installed.
cheers
