I've begun making a sort of news site with Midgard 1.2.5. It's coming along
very nicely, and I am very pleased wiht Midgard's structure. Easy to use and
powerful too.

So, the two main portions missing are user preferences and an ability to
comment on articles.

Midgard, of course, has users and preferences built in, but I was thinking
more along the lines of a static login via a cookie. Is there any good way to
manage this sort of user database from within Midgard, or should I just use
the MySQL functions in PHP?

For the comment system, I am wondering what the best way to integrate it into
the database is. Perhaps how the topics/articles are managed in Midgard as
separte tables, with links to each other. However, will this make it
difficult to cull old comments? Any suggestions?

Oh, and one other thing... would it be worthwhile to just upgrade to
1.4beta? The site isn't finished yet, and I'd hate to get it done just as 1.4
is released.

Many thanks!
