Thanks.... I got through that.... now of course the installation of mod_midgard
chokes...
This is a really stupid question:
This is what I do for mod_midgard:
./configure --with-apache=/usr/ --with-midgard=/usr/local
seems to do ok... but again when i execute make
I get apxs:Warning: /usr/bin/httpd not found or not executable
I've tried setting PATH=$PATH:/usr/sbin
What am I doing wrong? OK. obviously I'm new to this... maybe I'm overstepping my
capabilities, but I guess this is how one learns.
Thanks again for the help.

I'll assume the ':' on the end is a typo.

try ./configure --with-mysql=/usr instead. The directory you supply
should have the include and lib directories where the mysql stuff
resides, or the include/mysql and lib/mysql directories. But /usr and
/usr/lib are in the list of paths being searched allready, so if the
libs & includes are in either you should be able to omit the parameter
completely.

ISTR that the configure process uses the environment variables, and
that the build process uses the --with suplied parameters.

I've done this 2 times. At the time it turned out that (for reasons
unknown to me), (re)moving the shared libmysqlclient and running
ldconfig before the build (and optionally restore the situation later)
fixed things for me.

Naah. I've come to the conclusion that the RaQ is custom-built to make
Midgard hard to install.
