Oh… I get/got the “think as a brick” saying = slow-witted/dumb/naïve. But there was a WHOLE LOT MORE going on in that very long song/album than just that. Supposed Anderson created the persona of an 8 year old boy who won a poetry contest for writing this poem that’s a (not-so-)subtle put down of pretentious artists creating “prog rock concept albums” even though this album was just that, a pretentious prog rock concept album, as most of Tulls music was in those days. But there was just tons and tons of subtle stuff in the lyrics that I never, never understood the meaning of. Maybe if I was British, or more sophisticated (or just older and maybe a little less Southern backwoods) I would have. Oh well…. Loved the music in any case.
