The IGS (Internal German Service) Berlin operation also served DUS, STR and NUE. The LHR narrow-bodies operated cross-channel routes at various times to AMS and BRU as well as a single FRA flight, but never nonstop to TXL (it was served via HAM).
And a single 727-235 operated a daily NRT-OSA extension, with four per week continuing to SEL (now GMP). LH wasnβt permitted to overfly the DDR. PA offered hourly FRA-TXL flights, 2-hourly MUC-TXL, and I think they had some HAM-TXL and LHR-TXL. I donβt remember if they had any CGN or DUS flights. They also had an LHR-FRA narrowbody service, and over the years offered various narrowbody tags to places like ATH, CAI maybe TLV. And of course had U.S. domestic narrowbody service mainly to feed JFK. They may have had some narrowbody tags in Asia, too. All were fifth freedom flights. PA once had quite the operation at LHR including flights to SEA, SFO and LAX βthe only West Coast-Europe flights by a U.S. operator. I saw Pan Am as a long haul outfit. Good time for me to add why I appreciate MifNet. Nobody is afraid to challenge statements, which means watch your a%$. Secondly is the fact that I'm so outnumbered in areas where I've had very little exposure. Not really a steep learning curve but more like interesting bits & peeks into the airline business world.
