Reports in 1.1 use an open source reporting tool called BIRT.

http://mifos.org/developers/wiki/HowToCreateBirtReport

You can also view a Flash video on the process:
http://mifos.org/developers/wiki/knowledge/resources/features-and-functi
onality/reporting-module/birt-sql.swf

You likely have found a defect, since this code base is 1.1 and we have
had many new checkins. Could you file an issue in our issue tracker
with specific steps? For instructions, see

http://mifos.org/developers/issue-tracking

Subject: Re: [Mifos-developer] Getting started on Mifos

Thanks for the fast reply,

i am currently checking the documents for more details,

i am using the latest version from SVN.

as for the create loan account, i did create a client's loan, then i
already have a saved client. whenever i try to select to assign the loan
for this customer, the loan's type dropdown is empty.

please see the attached pictures for more details, in them i have the
clients details (you can see that he is active), the loan's details and
how the dropdown is empty.

Finally for the reports, do u need to be a programmer in order to
customize a report? or administrator can do that?! thanks

Thanks

Hello. I believe you may find the links below helpful. :-) As always,
please don't hesitate to use the search field on mifos.org
<http://mifos.org/> to look for specific information.

The link http://mifos.org/knowledge/user-manual contains instructions
on using 1.0. It has not yet been updated for 1.1.

http://mifos.org/knowledge/functional-specs contains more information on
features in 1.0.

http://mifos.org/developers/roadmap lists all features.

You can also use the demo server to see 1.0 (stable):
http://demo.mifos.org:8080/mifos/loginAction
<http://demo.mifos.org:8080/mifos/loginAction>

(login: mifos/testmifos)

or the less stable test server to see 1.1 (experimental and updated
weekly): http://test.mifos.org:8085/mifos

(login: mifos/testmifos)

http://mifos.org/product/demo-the-software will walk you through the
basics of using the application, if you like audio/visual
demonstrations.

1) cant seem to find any report in the report section! do i need to
create my own reports ? or this is done ??

Reports are configured in Jasper in 1.0 and using BIRT in 1.1, so it may
depend on which version you are using. Reporting in Mifos is fully
customizable.

2) Why when i create a loan object, i can seem to be able to see the
loan in the select loan type drop down?!! saving account is working
perfectly!

Some questions:

- Are you using 1.0 or 1.0,?

- Please provide the repro steps and user id of what steps you
took

the application!? since i have two issues:

1) cant seem to find any report in the report section! do i need to
create my own reports ? or this is done ??

2) Why when i create a loan object, i can seem to be able to see the
loan in the select loan type drop down?!! saving account is working
perfectly!

thanks and hope to hear from you

Best
