"my.build.properties" is your approach to override your own properties which
are not supposed to be checked in.
Properties defined in "my.build.properties" will override those defined in
"build.properties" -- "Ant" will skip it when it doesn't exist.
And this in order to avoid changing settings standards.

Regarding the build failure related to build database, (I suppose that you have
executed the tasks build_db) you have to set your filename of the web server
under which the application
is to be deployed.
For example, if you use JBoss you have to define the destination to ;
#deploy.destination=${env.JBOSS_HOME}/server/mifos/deploy (Here you can see
what we mean with mifos/deploy: It's the instance of Jboss already created).
Also, you have to define your own application's database parameters to
successfully build the database (The same applies to test's database).
-- Or you can create a new MySql database instance with same parameters said in
the "build.properties" file.
Another problem that may appear when running "dist" tasks in "Ant", so you need
to copy a JUnit.jar file to your eclipse/plugins/org.apache.ant/lib directory.
Next you need to go into Eclipse then click on
Window->Preferences->ant->Runtime, then select 'Ant Home Entries (Default).
Click on the button 'Add External JARs'. Locate the junit.jar file you copied,
select it and hit 'OK'. Hit 'OK' and try your "Ant" task again. That should fix
it.
