Hello, Thanks very much for your assistance. I can now explain more on how to create the loan and saving account successfully,I am very happy since I got this. Many thanks to Aliya Walji and Mayank Upadhayay who help me out. But I still need your assistance in the area of applying payment for a Loan Account which is the next step for me now. I can not find the apply_payment_ link where I am supposed to find it on the Loan_Account_Dashboard I created and I clicked on the view_details_link where I found the apply_payment_ link, but I always get a blank_page whenever I click on it. Please help me look into this, I will be very grateful if you can help me out here.
Thanks, Dauda Abdulquadri. Remain blessed. ---------------------------------------- From: "Aliya Walji" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, January 23, 2008 11:05 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]>, "Mifos functional discussions" <[EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [Mifos-developer] Please I need help on creating account Hello, I'm adding the Mifos functional mailing list back to this email thread. In general, you should 'reply-all' when responding to a post on the mailing list so that everyone has the benefit of seeing your subsequent questions and responses. Here are some links to the mailing list etiquette that we try to follow on our lists: http://linux.sgms-centre.com/misc/netiquette.php http://mifos.org/developers/listserv/developer-functional-mailing-lists#etiquette http://catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html In terms of your question about savings accounts, you should be able to create savings for clients, groups and centers, depending on how Mifos is configured. Loan accounts can not be created for centers (only for clients and groups). You can take a look through the Mifos functional specification if you have more questions along these lines and if you don't see the answer to your questions there, please feel free to send email to this list. The functional specifications for v1.0 of Mifos can be found here: http://mifos.org/knowledge/functional-specs Thanks, Aliya ---------------------------------------- From: Abdul-Quadri Dauda [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, January 23, 2008 2:42 AM To: Aliya Walji Subject: RE: [Mifos-developer] Please I need help on creating account Hello, Thanks very much, I am very grateful. Can you believe that I can create the loan and saving accounts now, after following your instruction and expectially that of Mayank Upadhayay. But I also notice something which I will like to inform you. I think it does not need for the frequency on the loan product to matche with the frequency of the meeting schedule for the group/client for which you are creating a loan. What I just did is that, I just create the group and also the client and changed there state to active according to Mayank Upadhayay. And all started showing in the Combo box. I also noticed that a Saving Account can only be created for Center and only through the Center Page, which am not yet cleared with. I can not create Loan Account for Center. Please I will still need your help here. Thanks, Abdulquadri. ---------------------------------------- From : "Aliya Walji" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent : Wednesday, January 23, 2008 6:40 AM To : "Developer" <[email protected]>, <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject : RE: [Mifos-developer] Please I need help on creating account Thanks Mayank J One other suggestion I have is also to ensure that the c matches the frequency of the meeting schedule for the group/client for which you are creating a loan. For example for clients that have monthly meetings, loan products with weekly repayments will not show up as an option in the drop down list when creating a loan account. Similarly, if you have a loan product with monthly frequency, then any clients with weekly/bi-weekly etc. meetings will not be able to have a loan account for that loan product with monthly repayments. Hopefully between Mayank's tips and the information above, you'll be able to create loan and savings accounts successfully. For example :- If you have created an loan product that is for group, then product will only be visible for creating an account for group. You can follow the procedure below to create a loan account from scratch for group. 1. Create a loan product for group. 2. Create an office. 3. Create a user that must be loan officer. 4. Create a center under that office 5. Create a group under that center. 6. Change the state of group to active. 7. Then create a loan account for that group. I hope this will help you out. Although I had done something which was alright with the help of the user manual, but am having a challenge on how to create a loan and saving account. I had defined the loan and saving product where I specify the product instance name , but anytime I want to create a loan or saving account the combo box in front of the savings instance name will not bring anything out. Please help me out, may be there is something I still need to do. Thanks, Dauda Abdulquadri
