johnwoodlock commented on MIFOS-3312:
-------------------------------------
All the work I've done so far focused on the accounts that were in error during
the interest calculation process. So, it was about 'fixing' the batch job
which in hindsight is a bit of red herring. Whilst there were 2 of these that
should have posted interest this isn't the main problem. On 2010-06-30, there
were 18115 interest postings... all of them zero. However, there were 4921
accounts that had interest waiting to be posted. Apologies for not checking
the accounts not in error before now.
I checked the latest 1.5.x code and it looked good (as in it didn't seem
possible that it could create zero postings if interest was to be posted)...
when I ran the posting batch job again and hacked it so that it picked up one
account... it ran fine... and the figures looked good.
Looking at scheduled_tasks table, the posting batch job did run on 1/7/2010 and
took about 4.5 mins. It's as if different code was running. I'm wondering
what release version is deployed at secdep. could it different to the latest
one that I used. Unfortunately, when I look at the system information page the
git revision number is not shown. It shows "Subversion Revision Number
${scmbran...@fixme"
Maybe there's another way to see what is deployed at secdep around the 30th
June/1st July? The one I was using (looking at hudson) was build 71,
21-Jun-2010 14:04:55 Revision: 087edd35b042ae57a823ce1b885658ef94dfc329
Action: what revision was deployed at secdep on 1st July.
"also noticed some of the examples above have interest posting on 6/29 or 6/28
instead of 6/30 as expected. This may be a different issue?"
Jeff on Van's snapshot all activities for interest posting were '2010-06-30'.
Maybe the rerun caused probs (anyhow, I can't see the attachment yet in this
issue to have a better view on it).

> SECDEP reported several accounts were not posting interest on their 3 month
> interest posting date - 30 June 2010.
> I've confirmed that many accounts were flagged in the SavingsIntCalcTask as
> of 30 June. Previously, a few tasks were flagged every day (see MIFOS-2714).
> A large list appears every day starting 30 June. Note the attached list may
> be truncated and not completely list all failed postings.
