-------------------------------------
Although, I still don't know why there was a 'mass' zero interest posting on
1/7/2010... I think the very latest 1.5.x hudson war works ok. I've
run the posting job again and it appears to work fine.
Might be time to move the process forward. It would be good to have a more
formal test with more pairs of eyes. Below is a first cut test plan for
discussion with some gaps... I'm aware it can be improved upon by people who
are most familiar with the savings area... at secdep... and in the mifos code
base.
1. fix the accounts 'in error' by running the batch calculate interest job
This should 'catch-up' and result in two accounts (no.s and amounts mentioned
previously) having interest to post.
Question: Is interest to be posted calculated daily? The interest calculation
job only picks up accounts that have a next_int_calc_date < today (or catchup
date) so it doesnt appear so. Also, until may 8th the posting job used to read
each working day but not since. It runs for all accounts whose
next_int_post_date < today (maybe the previous mandatory accounts had varied
post dates and now all are on the same day)
2. delete all the postings applied in the last interest posting (all zero).
This should just affect saving_activity_details, account_payment, account_trxn
and savings_trxn_detail (financial_trxn shouldn't have any zero postings but
can check).
3. update the last_int_post_date and next_int_post_date to 2010-03-31 &
2010-06-30 resp. Then run the posting job again... this should correctly post
the interest for the 2 accounts that were 'in error' and also the 4291 accounts
that still have outstanding interest to be posted.
4. Then there's a need to changes dates to as if they ran on 1st July (or
actually run it on 1st July).

> SECDEP reported several accounts were not posting interest on their 3 month
> interest posting date - 30 June 2010.
> I've confirmed that many accounts were flagged in the SavingsIntCalcTask as
> of 30 June. Previously, a few tasks were flagged every day (see MIFOS-2714).
> A large list appears every day starting 30 June. Note the attached list may
> be truncated and not completely list all failed postings.
