Community,
We have launched a community-wide product working group to unite the
community on one development path. The major goal from this group is to
consolidate all community needs/requests into one unified product roadmap.
We had our first meeting this morning with some very useful discussion on
the major features the product should support. I realize a good portion of
you weren't able to join so please read the notes from the call:

*Next Steps:*
The working group will be break off into teams focusing on individual areas
of the product to start addressing the key needs that arose from the
meeting. Each of these teams will be sending emails to the list to capture
additional requirements.
Another important next step is building out the processes and communication
channels to get these feedback and details. We have both and an active
developer community and a vibrant user base - but they remain disconnected.
We want to bring you all together.
We have volunteer developers across the community who are ready to support
customers and fill the gaps in the product - they need to hear from the
users on what to build. A short while ago we compiled this list of priority
gaps at: http://mifosforge.jira.com/wiki/display/MIFOS/Priority+Gaps.
Similar to our open developer meetings, we're going to be kicking off weekly
user meetups to provide a forum to capture this feedback and will also be
setting up some one on one meetings to directly listen to your needs.
I will be sending out additional emails with more details on each of these
action items.
