We have faced similar cases before and have been thinking the same as what
you suggested for Option 2 i.e. updating through back end because closing
the accounts and reopening them will just cause confusion when it comes to
reporting.
Just a clarification, is it only the table customer that is to be updated
or there are other tables involved as well?
Kindly advise.
