I don't sell a "power router" anything. http://store.wispgear.net/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=mikrocore > He's > looking for a 498 replacement. A $1300 router is a good value but not a > good replacement for this situation. Based off of a "mikrocore" search on > the store. The original question was about moving from AH platform up to the PPC stuff (rb800/600/1100 etc.). A simple answer is that there is MUCH better throughput from the PPC @800MHz than the AH @680. I would not recommend the RB1100 and the RB1200 (a step down) is not available everywhere, yet (not sure it's even in the US market, yet). RB800 with expansion card (19 ports total, 3GigE + 16 10/100) would be a good option. RB800 is MUCH MUCH MUCH better than RB1100, IMO, because it has a better ethernet chipset. -- ******************************************************************** * Butch Evans * Professional Network Consultation * * http://www.butchevans.com/ * Network Engineering * * http://store.wispgear.net/ * Wired or Wireless Networks * * http://blog.butchevans.com/ * ImageStream, Mikrotik and MORE! * * NOTE THE NEW PHONE NUMBER: 702-537-0979 * ******************************************************************** _______________________________________________ Mikrotik mailing list [email protected] http://www.butchevans.com/mailman/listinfo/mikrotik Visit http://blog.butchevans.com/ for tutorials related to Mikrotik RouterOS
