I think this is very controversial.  I've never seen a case that object
serialization is faster than custom serialization.  It was faster even after
I optimized the class descriptor stuff.  But I still agree with you that
object serialization is the way to go if the environment homogenous to save
a *lot* of time.  Moreover, we can switch the codec whenever we want thanks
to MINA's architecture. :)
