This is a good example of how the media misses the forrest for the trees. The shrines aren't the problem. Gangs are the problem. This is exactly the debate with guns. Guns aren't the problem in those areas, gangs are the problem. Gangs use guns yes, but legislating guns isn't going to make the problem go away. Do you think they are going to say to themselves, darn it, guns are against the law now, guess we have to quit killing each other. I venture to say they won't be saying that. In fact, we have proof that it doesn't work. California has some of the strictest gun laws in the country. And yet they have the biggest problem with gangs.
