Chris - are you pissing in your bathwater as a cure for a skin condition? If so, you may have to go on the Hippies List! And what is wrong, Ian, with shooting the odd hippy? Pour encourage les autres? Victor Hugo would clearly approve! Or have I misunderstood again? I've usually found that I didn't understand any particular bit of science until I learned all kinds of relevant stuff - one needs to get on the inside track. If global warming needed man, one would assume the dinosaurs would not have suffered from it - which they clearly did. This, of course, doesn't mean we aren't screwing carbon levels, but these are a small part of a very big picture that needs to be grasped. It would, of course, have been a blessing had the world come to and end before any of us were forced to watch 'Water World'! The slogan we need to action is something like 'Decent People of the World Unite'. We are a long way down a slippery slope and can't grasp what the sane dialogue is. Global warming is a small part of a larger debate on catastrophes and developing societies resilient to them. I believe we actually live scared of organisation as we are usually organised to do worthless work we don't want to do, into armies to kill others and so on. We need a form of better organising that isn't more of the same old crud.
