I find the idea of urging Gabby onto common ground somewhat disturbing - shades of an invasion of Poland! I'm not sure I could cope without her ribbing. I sense another Germanic tradition may be more apt in terms of The Immortals. We should script an interminable opera starring ourselves. Orn could provide chanting monks for the chorus. I would play Zarathustra as a burned-out ex-cop casting pearls before swine with a sideline in hanging bureaucrats with their own ties, constantly being reborn after being killed under avalanches of acorns. Francis could do the Holy Man who has misplaced God for all the right reasons, Gabby the back end of the pantomime horse who is the only character who really knows what is going on, Chris and Craig as wood-cutters trying to chop trees with philosophy in a soundless forest, Gruff and Slip the remnants of a Ranger platoon in search of lost Stingers and Ian and Lee wandering enthusiasts in search of the World Tiddlywinks Championship. Molly would be our ultimate salvation. Anyone got Wagner's phone number - I mean this just must be put to music! Volunteers only for the front end of the pantomime horse!
