I have been reading through the post and thoughts dealing with collective
mentality and what keeps coming to mind is the arctic lemming which has a
true collective mentality. When there is an over population there is an
migration toward the arctic ocean. One starts running and the others
follow, and the social pressure take the leaders and push them over the
cliff into the ocean and they continue swimming to they meet their death.

Now there are a few that reach enlightenment and don't jump over the cliff,
others reach enlightenment and are pushed over the cliff by collective
mentality pressure. But enough reach enlightenment and survive by not
jumping over the cliff for the species to carry on its existence.

What I see in the collective mentality people is almost identical. People
following trends fashion or thoughts with no idea as to where they are
going. It would appear that people for the most part have the collective
mentality of a lemming.

Fortunately there are some who reach enlightenment.. I hope.. before it is
to late.
