For the record, no, I didn't find it to be a saccharine response. I was
specifically addressing Gruff's reasoning for replying in such a Gruff manner.

And Molly, your reply did not make the crossover between professional and
personal editing clear, which did leave a question in my mind as well what you
meant by it. Communication is a tricky thing sometimes.

Well, you boys are having a day at my expense aren't you. I am not
sure why anyone expects me to read what gruff writes and give a
personal opinion. I was asked and I declined. How is that
saccharine? When asked why, my reply is that I cannot give a personal
opinion because gruff has asked me to do for him what I do
professionally for my clients - i.e., I read manuscripts with the eye
of and editor, so my opinion would be professional. If this offends
anyone, so be it. I do believe it to be my choice. I think gruff
attacked me for declining as a way to continue his argument about
morals. I have no intention of arguing further as I have stated my
position. Did you fine that saccharine? If you did or did not, it
matters not. You are entitled to your opinions and I mine. But you
are not entitled to attack me. So stop it and grow up for Christ
sake. Do you think that saying I remind you about bla bla bla masks
your attack? It doesn't. Get over it.
