That's a wonderful idea presented in the song. "I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony" is really great too. 'We Are The World' follows the pattern that has continuously failed since the dawn of civilization, "be the change you want to see". I think 'I'd like to teach...' is a bit more out of the box, but would still be as impossible as getting the world in line by accepting a common dogma.
