I don't think people in general have the slightest clue about food modification nor do most pay any attention to ingredients. I was at the supermarket one day and saw this woman picking out some shredded cheeses, I politely informed her that the cheese contained potato starch, then pointed to the "ingredients list" which revealed as well corn starch, calcium sulphate, natamycin among enzymes, cultures and such. Needless to say the woman was totally shocked that a package labeled "Natural" cheese would have so much non cheese content. Question is this, is there really enough food in the world to go around in it's "natural" state? Can we feed the world on pure foods? What are we eating? People are like lemmings and follow without question what appears to be the right way to go. It is not until disaster shows it's fangs that people start to question their ignorance and trust. People are easily duped.
