Indeed was this ablity ever there? Our history tells us that perhps not. We fight us creatures, and sometimes I don't even know what we are fighting over.
Most of us like the violence, as is evidanced on any Friday night up town when the pubs kick out. Like Romans we have our circuses full of violecne and bloodshed, it seems we can't get enough of it, it appears it is an inherent thing for all life to make recourse to violence. I don't know the answer, perhaps we shall never be free of it, perhaps as our world gets more densly populated then it will only get worse?
