To me, atheism self-perpetuates itself in the sense that a strong
belief that there is no "God" most likely will stop the believer of
such from experiencing those nagging little feelings of the spirit
tapping one on the head and saying "Look at me. I live within you.
Please speak with me". Many people slam and bolt shut the door to the
unknown, while others throw all of their rainy day money into a very
vague collection plate. In my experience, "God" cannot be found in
science, a book, or within the boundaries of an exuberant skepticism.
